Solid Wood Flooring
Timeless solid hardwood planks — sand and refinish for a lifetime of beautiful floors.
Solid wood flooring is exactly what it sounds like — a single, full-thickness plank of real hardwood, milled and finished with no plywood backing. It's the most premium, most repairable floor you can buy. Properly looked after, a solid oak floor can be sanded down and re-finished four or five times across its life and easily outlast the building it's fitted in.
We stock solid oak flooring as the workhorse choice (warm, hard-wearing and an honest match for almost any UK interior), alongside richer solid walnut planks for a more dramatic, contemporary look. Plank thicknesses run from 18mm to 20mm, with widths from cosy 90mm boards up to wide 180mm planks for a more modern feel.
A few honest notes: solid wood flooring needs a stable, dry sub-floor and a settled indoor humidity, so it's not the right pick for bathrooms, conservatories or rooms above unzoned underfloor heating — engineered oak or LVT will serve you better there. For everywhere else, this is the floor that will quietly look better and better with every passing year. Free samples and free UK delivery on orders over £750.
