The laminate flooring edging is something you’ll need to think about when the times comes to pick your floor. You won’t be overwhelmed with options, but each option is important on how your laminate flooring will look overall. So whether you want a smooth or bevelled look, we go through the options to give you the best chance of making the right decision.

EDGING TYPES

No Bevel - Square Edge laminate flooring

Shop – No Bevel

No Bevel, or Square Edge Laminate Flooring as it sometimes called, provides a seamless look on your floor. The board meet precisely together to form a tight join, that creates a uniformed and formal look. Ideal for those seeking a smooth and contemporary look.

Bevelled Edge Laminate flooring

Shop – Bevelled

Bevelled Laminate Flooring is by far the most popular type of edge profile. Traditionally a bevelled edge was produced on real wood floors to hind any imperfections in the machining of the timber. However, with laminate flooring, it is produced only for aesthetics. If you are looking for a more solid, tradition floorboard look, then a bevelled edge is the one for you. Additionally, having the bevels in the laminate floor is a great way to hide any micro gaps they may appear over a period of time.

Micro-bevelled edge laminate flooring

Shop -Micro Bevel

Micro-Bevelled Laminate Flooring was created based on the feedback and customer reviews on bevelled laminate flooring. To some, the bevels created a bit of dust trap and therefore harder to clean. A micro-bevelled is a small groove that goes around the perimeter of each board, subtly distinguishing the join on each plank.

Pressed Bevelled Edge Laminate Flooring

Shop – Pressed Bevel

Pressed Bevelled Laminate Flooring is a fairly new technique used by manufactures to give the bevels in laminate flooring more character. Instead of a machine cut bevel, the grooves are created by compression. This means that not only does it reduce the dust build-up, but it also allows the bevel to appear naturally inconsistent, just like the real thing.
