Acclimatising your floor to the room it’s getting fitted in is extremely important. The temperature and humidity from where the floor has been stored, to where it is going to be fitted is most likely different.
Why is this important?? Well… it’s important because you have a difference in humidity that can cause the floor to contract and expand once it’s in your home. If there hasn’t been enough time for the floor to acclimatise, then it could mean the floor gets installed incorrectly.
What should I do?? It’s really simple. All you need to do is leave the flooring in the room it is going to be fitted in, at the temperature its accustomed to, for the recommended time the manufacturer advises.
How long should I leave it to acclimatise for?? Different floors along with different manufactures will have their own requirements, however you can use our guide as an example.
